The Los Angeles Rams have strengthened their secondary by trading for Trent McDuffie and signing Kam Curl and Jaylen Watson, but coach Sean McVay suggests they may continue to add depth.
The Los Angeles Rams made some huge secondary moves this offseason to shore up their weakest position from the 2025 season. L.A. traded for and signed Trent McDuffie, re-signed Kam Curl and signed Jaylen Watson in the early days of free agency.
And while that may seem like enough moves for one offseason, Rams head coach Sean McVay noted that the team may not be done adding pieces to the secondary despite how he feels about the unit as a whole.
"I think you feel good about [the secondary], but we're always looking to add," he said at Monday's news conference. "You feel good, but you can never have enough depth at those important spots.ā
This would line up with the recent report that the Rams have done a lot of research on the 2026 cornerback prospects. Now, some of that work could have been from pre-draft scouting before they knew they'd add McDuffie, Watson and Curl, but it still means the Rams could add more to the secondary in the draft.
And it would make sense. Apart from McDuffie and Watson, the Rams only have Josh Wallace and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. They could use at least one more cornerback to fully flesh out the unit.
It's unclear in what areas of the draft the Rams will target secondary, but it wouldn't be a surprise if another one landed in L.A. over the weekend.

Sean McVay emphasized the importance of depth in the secondary and stated that the team is always looking to add more talent.
The Rams have conducted extensive research on cornerback prospects for the 2026 draft, indicating they may seek further improvements in that area.
