Twenty-five boys basketball players from Section 9 and one from a Dutchess County school were named large-school all-state by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Jimmy Kelly of Goshen (Class AA) and Michai Thompson of Beacon (A) were the highest selections as second-team choices in their respective divisions. Jahcier Ballard of Beacon and Rileigh Jackson of Red Hook (Class AA) were fifth-team choices.
The all-state players of the year are Jasiah Jervis of Archbishop Stepinac (CHSAA) in Class AAAA; Tyler Romeo of Achievement First (PSAL) in Class AA; and, Eli Prince of Westhill (Section 3) in Class A.
The smalll-school teams were released last week, with 10 players chosen from Section 9 and one from Dutchess County.
