Sergio Garcia is among the players in the field for LIV Golf Mexico City, which is going ahead as planned despite rumours of the league being shut down.
Saudi Arabiaās Public Investment Fund (PIF) is reportedly close to ending its support for LIV Golf, which could struggle to survive if that is the case.
But LIV Golf CEO Scott OāNeil has since confirmed to players that the 2026 season will continue without interruption.
That starts in Mexico this week, where Fireballs GC captain Garcia has now addressed the rumours of significant issues for LIV Golf moving forward.
When asked in his pre-tournament press conference if he had any information to share on the matter, Garcia said in Spanish: āNo, honestly, we havenāt heard anything other than what Yasir (Al-Rumayyan, LIV Golf Chairman) told us at the beginning of the year.
āThat heās behind us, that they have a long-term project.
āAnd well, honestly, you know how these rumours are.
āThere are always a lot of them.
āAnd I canāt tell you anything more than what we already know.ā

Garcia will be eager to focus solely on the golf itself when the tournament gets underway, as will all of the players.

The Spaniard is one of the LIV Golf stars who is playing for the first time since The Masters, which concluded at Augusta National on Sunday.
He was one of five LIV Golf players to make the cut, but Garcia was heavily criticized by fans after completely losing his temper during his final round.
The former champion went on to finish 52nd of 54 players to play the weekend, and has now been asked if the team format of LIV Golf makes him approach the game more positively.
āWell, obviously when youāre surrounded by your teammates and friends, you always feel a little bit better, right?ā he said.
āBut anyway, I think that in the end, what weāre all trying to do is play at the highest level possible. Obviously, Iām trying to find my rhythm.
āAnd well, obviously last week there were things I did pretty well because, even though I wasnāt feeling great, making the cut there isnāt easy.
āBut yeah, there were too many mistakes. Right? Maybe thatās why I didnāt finish as well as I would have liked.
āBut anyway, Iām happy to be here with my friends and teammates from the Fireballs. And honestly, we had a really good practice yesterday. We enjoyed it a lot, and well, letās hope itās a good week.ā
Garcia enters LIV Golf Mexico City sitting 30th in the individual standings, with his Fireballs side eighth in the team standings.
Ripper GC top the table, while Garciaās fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm leads the individual table, having clinched that title in each of the last two seasons.
