It's one that Lyle Fitzsimmons of Bleacher Report has singled out in a list of eight potential McDavid landing spots if a trade were to go down. Fitzsimmons actually lists the Sharks first on his list.
The all-time great McDavid has two years left on his current contract. That makes this summer, or next season's trade deadline, the window for the Oilers to get the best potential return if they deal him.

"The team contended for a Western playoff berth all season, wound up just four points shy of the second wild-card slot, and is flush with cap space that could accommodate a deal with Edmonton—not to mention a high-end prospect pool."
Celebrini had the third-best points season by a 19-year old in NHL history this season, behind just Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby. He also led Team Canada in goals at the Olympics.
Clearly, Celebrini is one of the potential heirs to McDavid's throne as the best player on the planet. So imagine them playing together as Celebrini ascends to that level in real time, while McDavid is still pretty much in his prime.
It'd be quite the hockey sight, and it'd quickly elevate San Jose into a must-watch contender.
