Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Xavi Simons has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, suffering the injury setback during their match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.
Simons will now need surgery to fix the problem, with the expectation that heāll miss not just the remainder of the season, but also the summer World Cup, and the rest of Spursā club football in 2026.
To compound their woes, Dominic Solanke also suffered an injury at the weekend, with Roberto De Zerbi confirming itās āa muscular injuryā. The manager claimed itās ānot a big problemā, but added āI donāt know how many games we lose himā.

Given Spursā current situation, even losing Solanke for just a couple of games would be a major blow.
With just four games remaining, Spurs sit in the relegation zone, two points behind West Ham United in 17th. They still have to travel away to Aston Villa and Chelsea in their final four matches, as well as facing fellow relegation battlers Leeds United and Europe-chasing Everton at home.
West Ham also have some tricky games coming up, playing away to Brentford and Newcastle United, and facing Arsenal and Leeds at home.
It looks like this relegation scrap could go down to the wire, and even Nottingham Forest (five points clear of Spurs but with games against Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester United, and Bournemouth to come) canāt consider themselves safe just yet.

If Solanke is indeed sidelined for Spursā next game against Villa, heāll join Simons, Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, and Cristian Romero in missing the match.
Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie, and Pape Matar Sarr are also doubts, but itās possible they could make their comebacks at Villa Park.
