Borden was sensational, striking out 10.
She surrendered just four hits and one earned run in the win.
Offensively, the sophomore delivered Chalmetteās only two runs of the game with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning against one of the top arms in the state.
After surrendering the two-run shot to her pitching counterpart in the opening inning, Patrick Taylorās Ashtyn Rogers locked in.
The Southeastern signee struck out the next 11 batters she faced. She finished with 16 strikeouts.
Patrick Taylorās only run of the game came in the top of the first on an RBI single from Leah Godoy, but the Tigersā offense went cold after that.
It was a great test for two teams capable of making deep postseason runs.
Chalmette entered the night as the No. 14 team in the Division I Non-Select power rankings, while Patrick Taylor was the No. 4 team in Division II Select.
The high school softball playoff brackets will be released on Wednesday.
