TL;DR
Stephen A. Smith suggested that Mike Trout should request a trade from the Los Angeles Angels during ESPN's First Take. This comment followed Trout's performance where he hit two home runs in a game that ended with the Angels losing to the New York Yankees 11-10.

Stephen A. Smith doesn't spend a lot of time talking about baseball, and it doesn't always go perfectly when he does.
On ESPN's First Take on Tuesday, though, Smith took a swing at it with the Los Angeles Angels and Mike Trout.
In short, he thinks Trout should request a trade.
Smith happened to notice that on Monday night, Trout had the most Trout-ian of games. He hit two home runs, and the Angels blew a late lead in an 11-10 loss to the New York Yankees.
It was the kind of game that encapsulated Trout's entire career in one night.

Of course, if Trout were going to request a trade, it likely would've happened years ago.
At this point, it is what it is. He's played in just one postseason series in his entire career, and that was back in 2014.
He seems content to ride it out with the Angels.
"The best way to tell if Mike Trout is on a hot streak is if someone is suggesting he request a trade," wrote The Athletic's Sam Blum on X.
Trout looks healthier this season than he has in years, and he started red hot -- but he was then in a serious slump before breaking back out on Monday night in the Bronx.
The Angels appear to have Trout for as long as they want, even though they haven't done much to deserve keeping him.
But who knows -- maybe Trout is an avid First Take fan and will take Smith's advice to heart.
