Swansea City are close to appointing a new sporting director, seven months after the departure of director of football Richard Montague.
Swansea indicated that chief executive Tom Gorringe and global head of recruitment and analytics Adam Worth would fill the gap left by Montague's exit after his brief spell in Wales ended last September.
However, the idea of replacing Montague has been on the agenda for some time and Swansea are now understood to be at an advanced stage in the recruitment process.
Though the new recruit will have a different title, the role is likely to be similar to the one previously filled by Montague.
Worth, meanwhile, has announced via social media that he is leaving the Championship club after almost two years to "pursue another opportunity".
"I leave the club with immense pride in the foundations we've built together and the value we've added to the squad. I have no doubt this has set us up for future success," Worth added.
"The club is in great hands - with talented staff, an ambitious ownership group, and a squad that feels in a far healthier place heading into a summer window than it has in some time.
"I will always value the incredible relationships I've built at the club and wish everyone at Swansea City all the success in the world. I hope that one day our paths cross again so we can finish what we started together."
