Tennessee baseball wins series finale at Kentucky
Tennessee (31-17, 11-13 SEC) won a series finale Sunday, 10-9, against Kentucky (29-16, 11-13 SEC). The Wildcats won the three-game series, 2-1, at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington, Kentucky.
Kentucky won the series opener, 9-2, while winning Game 2, 12-2, in eight innings.
Landon Mack (4-4) started for the Vols on Sunday and pitched six innings, earning his fourth win. He recorded six strikeouts and 102 pitches, including 67 strikes, against 24 batters. Mack allowed six hits, two walks, one run (one earned) and one wild pitch.
Cam Appenzeller replaced Mack and pitched 0.2 innings in relief. He allowed four runs (four earned), four hits and hit one batter.
Bo Rhudy also pitched 1.2 innings in relief for Tennessee, allowing four runs (four earned) and one walk. Brandon Arvidson earned his second save of the season.
Tennessee offense totaled 13 hits in Game 3, including one home run from Reese Chapman and two home runs from Levi Clark.
The Vols will next play on Tuesday against Presbyterian. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. EDT at Lindsey Nelson Stadium (SEC Network+).
Tennessee won the series finale against Kentucky with a score of 10-9.
