The 6-foot-8, 267-pound Carey averaged 7.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists. He shot 48.7% from the floor and under 50% from the free-throw line.
Carey, along with Michigan transfer J.P. Estrella, helped fortify the Vols' physical frontcourt identity that carried them to the Elite Eight in the Men's NCAA Tournament.
Carey started his college career at James Madison in the 2023-24 season. He transferred to Vanderbilt for his sophomore season before coming to Tennessee as a junior. He's played in 106 total games across his career.
Freshman forward DeWayne Brown II could take Carey's spot in the rotation as the first frontcourt player off the bench, barring a leap into the starting lineup.
