It appears as though the Vols arenāt done losing players this offseason after an exodus from their roster in the transfer portal.
Tennessee guard Ethan Burg announced on his Instagram account that heās leaving the program to return to Israel.

Thank you for welcoming me, a guy from halfway across the world, and making Rocky Top feel like home sweet home from my very first day,ā Burg wrote.
āIt has been an honor to play in front of this incredible fan base and represent the University of Tennessee. Iām so grateful to all the coaches, staff, and managers for the constant support. It was a privilege to compete alongside an amazing group of guys, my teammates, whom Iāll forever share a special bond with.
āAlthough Iāve made the difficult decision to return to Israel to be closer to my family, Iāll always be proud to be a Tennessee Volunteer. This past year has been unforgettable, and Iāll cherish the memories I made for the rest of my life.

Berg joined the Tennessee program before last season after spending two years in the Israeli Basketball Super League.
This year for the Vols, he appeared in 31 games with one start. His per game averages were 2.5 points, 1.1 assists, and 0.9 rebounds. His time on the floor was minimal to start SEC play after a semi-regular bench role in the preseason, which included a season-high 11 points in a win over Rice.
Ethan Burg is leaving the Tennessee Volunteers to return to Israel.
Burg's departure adds to the ongoing roster changes for the Volunteers, who have already seen multiple players enter the transfer portal.

However, he saw more action down the stretch, logging 18 or more minutes in Tennesseeās SEC Tournament finale and in three of the Volsā four NCAA Tournament games.
With Burg leaving for Israel, as things currently stand, the only returning members of the Volsā roster from last season are DeWayne Brown II and Troy Henderson. But Rick Barnes has been doing plenty of work getting the roster ready for next season, landing Notre Dameās Jalen Haralson and other potential standouts in the transfer portal.
