GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers have receivers who run under 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
They’re taking a look at another.
Chris Brazzell II, a Tennessee receiver who ran the 10th-fastest 40-yard dash among receivers at the combine and was a first-team All-SEC receiver, is making a top 30 pre-draft visit with the Packers, according to NFL Network.
The 6-foot-4, 198-pound Brazzell caught 62 passes for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns last season, qualifying as a Fred Biletnikoff Award semifinalist. His route tree wasn’t very complex; the Volunteers wanted to make use of his deep speed and he wasn’t asked to do a lot of blocking.
As a result, he’s not going to be a first- or second-round pick like the Packers’ other sub-4.4 receivers, Matthew Golden and Christian Watson.

Brazzell, the son of a former NFL receiver, thinks speed is an important part of his game, but he'd rather be considered just an all-around receiver.
“A guy, when it’s fourth-and-2 or fourth-and-5, you can go to,” Brazzell said at the combine. “Then a field-stretcher. I would just say playmaker.”
Brazzell started out at Tulane and in his second year started eight games and caught 44 passes for 711 yards and five touchdowns. He transferred to Tennessee the following year and had a modest 29 catches for 333 yards and two touchdowns.
Then came his senior year. He led the SEC in receiving yards and touchdowns and was named a third-team All-American.
Brazzell will have to prove he’s strong enough to block in the run game, something he didn’t do much of at Tennessee.
