The Houston Texans finalized the trade for wide receiver Christian Kirk from the Jacksonville Jaguars, receiving him in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Kirk had a limited regular season but contributed significantly in the playoffs before signing with the San Francisco 49ers.
Kirk served as a depth piece for the Texans, catching 28 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown. While it was a career low for Kirk in terms of yardage, he stepped up in the playoffs with a pair of touchdowns, one in each game with the team against the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots.

Even though Kirk’s time with the Texans was limited, and he signed with the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason, this was still a winning trade for the Texans. Kirk was a strong playoff contributor for them, and that should be worth the price of a seventh-round pick. The Texans could have nabbed a compensatory pick for Kirk, but they did not have a net loss of free agents.
