In return, the Browns moved down three spots, while acquiring some major additional capital for the future.
Now, with the 2026 NFL Draft upon us, let’s see what both sides eventually got in one of the bigger draft day trades in recent memory.
Cleveland traded back and took defensive tackle Mason Graham at No. 5 overall. They spent the No. 36 pick on running back and the No. 126 pick on running back .

The Browns also got the No. 24 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. There they selected Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion.
For the Browns, Mason Graham’s counting stats don’t look that impressive on paper (49 tackles, seven stuffs, four pass breakups, and 0.5 sacks). But he was quite disruptive in the middle as a rookie, ranking second on the team in pressures (36), while having 27 run stops and an 8.9 percent stop rate.
According to ESPN, Graham’s 38 percent run stop win rate led all rookies, while ranking 27th overall in the NFL. There is more to be desired as a pass-rusher, as Graham posted a sub-10 percent pass rush win rate, but it was still a good rookie season nonetheless.
Quinshon Judkins dealt with off-the-field and contract issues before joining the Browns late in the offseason, and quickly took over the backfield. He had a huge workload, taking 230 carries for 827 yards and seven touchdowns, although the 3.6 yards per carry behind a struggling offensive line wasn’t great.
Judkins also added 26 catches for 171 yards as a receiver.
Dylan Sampson ended up becoming one of Cleveland’s returners and was used more as a receiving back for the Browns, finishing the year with 33 catches for 271 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
In addition to Travis Hunter, the Jaguars also received the No. 104 pick, which they used on running back Bhayshul Tuten, and the No. 200 pick, which they used on safety Rayuan Lane.
Hunter’s rookie season was marred by injury as he tried to play both ways as a rookie in 2025. He showed flashes of his elite potential with some big players early in the season and had his best game against the Los Angeles Rams with an eight-catch, 101-yard, one-touchdown performance, but was shut down after a torn ligament in his right knee.
He finished his rookie campaign with 28 catches, 298 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups on defense.
Bhayshul Tuten found a role as Jacksonville’s No. 2 running back to Travis Etienne, rushing for 307 yards and five touchdowns on 83 carries as a rookie. He had some breakaway plays, showcasing his coveted speed, but improving his efficiency (3.7 yards per carry) will be important in Year 2.
Rayuan Lane played in all 17 games as a rookie, recording 12 tackles and a pass breakup. He was primarily used on special teams.
Cleveland got quite the haul of draft capital in this trade, receiving an early second-round pick, a midround pick, and a future first for moving back three spots. In addition, they got a player they seemed to covet all along in Mason Graham, who plays a premium position and has a lot to build on his rookie season.
Much of the comparison will be made between Graham and Hunter, but this move made a ton of sense for the Browns to pick up extra draft capital and position themselves well in the future, while still taking blue-chip talent.
They now have two first-round picks to work with in the 2026 NFL Draft, and a lot of building blocks going forward on the roster.
