Jack Nicklaus is widely considered the best golfer of all-time.
Nicklausā record of 18 major championship victories is yet to be surpassed, while he has the third-most PGA Tour wins of all time, with 73 to his name.
He achieved the majority of his wins when coming up against true giants of the game including the likes of Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Tom Watson.
Nicklaus obviously knows what it takes to reach the very highest level of the game.

Jack Nicklaus is a long-time admirer of Tiger Woods, and has regularly suggested that he is the greatest golfer in the history of the game.
However, Woods is not Nicklausā favorite currently active golfer to watch play.
Nicklaus sat down for a press conference after Scottie Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament for the second time in a row in June 2025.
The 86-year-old was asked to share his honest opinion on the world number oneās golf game.
āHe reminds me so much of the way I like to play,ā Nicklaus replied after watching Schefflerās four-shot victory.

It takes some doing for Jack Nicklaus to be that impressed.
The Golden Bear obviously sees much of himself in Scheffler and that is probably the biggest compliment the man from Dallas, Texas, will ever receive.
After Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament back in June, Nicklaus was asked how far he believes the 29-year-old can go in the game.
āHe has the ability to bring his level to whatever level it needs to be,ā the Golden Bear responded.
*ā*Thatās what good players do. And heās not a good player, heās a great player.
āLook at the record that he has had the last few years, itās unbelievable.ā
Schefflerās next challenge will be to continue winning majors and PGA Tour events at a regular clip for the next decade or so.
If he continues along his current trajectory, he will have won 10 majors and 50 PGA Tour tournaments by the time heās 35.
While that may be an unsustainable level of form, if anyone can do it, Scottie Scheffler can.
