Trevoh Chalobah has been one of the most desperately underrated players at Chelsea we can remember. That goes for the media, some Blues fans, our sporting directors and a succession of coaches.
Finally this year heâs convinced everyone that heâs the best option weâve got at the back (not that thatâs saying much given our current crop of defenders) and heâs played whenever heâs been fit.
One person who does appreciate him is Gary Cahill. The Chelsea defender spoke at length about Chalobah in an interview with the Evening Standard this week:
âHaving seen Chelsea a lot of times this season and the number of changes and injuries theyâve had at the back, heâs been the constant â the more consistent defender for Chelsea,â Cahill said.
âHis attitude since he came back from Crystal Palace has been tremendous, the way heâs produced the performances he has for Chelsea,â the Champions League winner continued.
Trevoh Chalobah is considered underrated due to a lack of recognition from media, fans, and coaches despite his consistent performances.
