Manchester City faces a crucial match against Brentford as they seek to maintain their Premier League title hopes. Rodri's fitness remains uncertain after missing the previous match against Everton.
The same selection query remains for Manchester City as they prepare to take on Brentford
Before Manchester City drew 3-3 with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last Monday, the biggest fitness query that surrounded Pep Guardiola’s side was: would Rodri play? The answer was no, as Manchester City’s midfield general missed the enthralling match, which put a dent in Manchester City’s bid to win this season’s Premier League title. Up next for City is another crucial Premier League fixture against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. It is simply a match City have to win to retain any hope of winning this season’s Premier League title. Heading into the match, Rodri’s fitness is once again a story to monitor.
Manchester City hosted an open section of training yesterday ahead of this weekend’s clash with Brentford. The good news for Pep Guardiola’s side was that Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias both returned to training after lengthy injury layoffs. That was fantastic to see for City. However, there was a concern to come out of City’s open training session.
As Sky Sports reported, Rodri failed to join his teammates in the open training session. The reason as to why Rodri didn’t feature in City’s training yesterday wasn’t revealed or immediately clear. Given that Rodri hasn’t played since Manchester City beat 2-1 at the end of April, his availability for another must-win game for Pep Guardiola’s side does appear to be in doubt.
Rodri's fitness is still a concern, and he was not spotted training with the team ahead of the match against Brentford.

Pep Guardiola will front the media later today for his pre-game press conference ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Brentford. Rodri’s fitness will likely be a topic that Guardiola will be asked about. That press conference looks to be the best chance for an answer on Rodri’s availability and fitness to arrive. Hopefully, Pep Guardiola has good news on Rodri’s fitness as City needs him on the pitch for the remainder of their games this Premier League season.
