This Guardians Pitcher Is Turning His Season Around

Holderman has also done a tremendous job of simply not allowing base runners during this stretch. He hasn’t issued a single walk and owns a 0.57 WHIP over the last four outings. Holderman may only have a strikeout rate of 20 percent since being recalled, but he’s generating a fair amount of ground balls and letting his defense do the work.

After this efficient run, Holderman pumped his season ERA down to 1.80 and WHIP to 0.80.

The big question in all of this is: Are Hodlerman’s numbers sustainable moving forward?

The Guardians should certainly be happy with what they’ve seen from Holderman over the last few weeks, and with how inconsistent the reliever core has been this year, they should hope it’s something that continues.
