The Florida Gators have made another addition to their 2027 recruiting class, landing a commitment from three-star defensive lineman De'Voun Kendrick.
He is from Tampa, Florida, and it did not take long for the Gators to receive his commitment. They extended him a scholarship offer on March 24 and quickly took control of his recruitment, hosting him on a visit for their spring game. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder has over 20 scholarship offers from programs across the country, including from the Texas A&M Aggies and Auburn Tigers.
Kendrick is ranked as the No. 831 overall player and No. 79 defensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 90 player from Florida.
He had a productive junior season at Carrollwood Day High School, making 28 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games, according to MaxPreps. He is Florida's first defensive line commit in the cycle.
Florida now has nine players committed in its 2027 recruiting class, which will be the first of the Jon Sumrall era. Rivals ranks the group as the 8th-best class in the country and the 4th-best in the SEC. Seven of them are blue-chip prospects, with five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller headlining the class.
