While there are some issues to address by the trade deadline, there hasn't been any problem with Kevin McGonigle, the top prospect they called up for Opening Day, who's since been incredible for Detroit.
And it's only 17 games into his big league career, but the Tigers have, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.com, made a massive decision on the young infielder, agreeing to terms on a $150 million contract extension.
"Kevin McGonigle and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on an eight-year, $150 million contract extension, sources say," Murray reports. "The deal includes a $14 million signing bonus and performance escalators."
This is a massive deal for the Tigers to hand out to McGonigle. It's been less than 20 games for the young infielder, but the Tigers have seen enough. They want him in Detroit for a long time.
This eight-year extension is set to keep McGonigle in Detroit through the 2034 season and will make sure the top prospect isn't going anywhere for a very long time.

The 21-year-old has already been off to a strong start to this MLB career, hitting .311 with one home run, eight RBIs, 19 hits, 12 runs scored, six doubles, one triple, and a .909 OPS through 17 games this season.
Detroit was looking for infield help over the last year, and they've found it in a homegrown prospect who looks to be a superstar in the making with McGonigle.
Tigers fans will get to see McGonigle in Detroit for a very long time with this extension, as the Tigers front office made a massive $150 million commitment to McGonigle over the next eight seasons.
