Kiper wrote that he likes Tate as an investment and supports the Titans' impulse to surround QB Cam Ward with talent. He didn't seem too high on anyone else. He's skeptical of Faulk's lack of production and rated everyone else in the class as a backup who could compete for starting time, including even second-round linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.
Reuter wrote he likes the Tate pick, thinks Faulk is a perfect scheme fit, believes Hill was incredible value and think fifth-round guard Fernando Carmona could be a starter. But Reuter is a bit of an easy grader here; 13 teams got an A-minus grade or better on his scale.
Tice and McDonald call Tate "the cherry on top for a strong class." They call this a foundational class for the future of Titans football, raving about Faulk's and Hill's upside and singling out sixth-round center Pat Coogan as a quality addition.
CBS didn't have much negative to say about the Titans, understanding the Tate pick and liking the decision to add fifth-round running back Nicholas Singleton. But in a report where 20 teams beat a B grade, it's hard to call this an exciting placement.
Rather than grading, Brugler used a best-to-worst rubric and had the Titans right on the cusp of the upper third. Tate was his favorite pick of the class, and Brugler wrote that Carmona's floor is as a Day 1 swing backup with the likelihood to compete for a job.
Just about every pick in the Titans' class drew positivity from FOX Sports' Rang. He likes how Tate pairs with Ward, he likes Faulk and Hill, he sees value in Carmona and Coogan and he recognizes upside in Singleton. But Rang's another grader who leaned positive; only three teams received grades worse than C.
The A grade here comes from the collective belief that the Titans found three starters in the first two rounds, and that Tate specifically can be a "stud." Only five teams got an A-grade or better on this rubric.
