In recent days, there has been a lot of noise surrounding Toni Kroos and a potential return to Real Madrid before next season.
The German icon announced his retirement from professional football at the end of the 2023/24 season, bringing an end to an illustrious career.
Since then, Los Blancos have heavily missed his presence not only on the field but also in the dressing room.
As such, reports of a potential return, not in a playing capacity, but as a part of the sporting structure, wherein he would act as a bridge between the players and the board, have been doing the rounds.
Kroos addressed this possibility on the podcast Einfach mal Luppen, which he co-hosts with his brother Felix Kroos.
On being asked directly about the rumours linking him with a return to Real Madrid, the club legend replied (h/t Mundo Deportivo):
“I can’t say anything about it, I don’t want to say anything, because I don’t know anything.”

“That’s the answer you can keep giving,” he told his brother Felix.
As mentioned above, talk has been about Kroos acting as a possible conduit between the club and the dressing room should he return.
At the same time, though, there have been suggestions that the German legend could be involved with grassroots football, coaching kids in the academy and identifying the best young talents at La Fabrica and nurturing them.
In the past, Kroos has always maintained that he considers Real Madrid his home and that he would not rule out a future return.
“Real Madrid will always remain my home. I don’t rule out returning one day to work at the club in any administrative or technical capacity, but not now. Currently, I need a break from the packed match schedule and constant travel,” he had said in March.
