Top 10 Pick Falls Into Philadelphia Eagles Lap in Round 1? New Rumor Opens Door to Possibility

A projected top 10 pick who would be a fantastic replacement option for AJ Brown may fall right into the Philadelphia Eagles‘ lap when they are on the clock in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.

One of the biggest stories this offseason has been on the future of AJ Brown. Last season, the three-time Pro Bowler did not hide his frustration with the team and how he was used in the offense. It created obvious speculation that once the season ended, he could end up on the trade block.

However, as we near the end of April, Brown remains in Philadelphia. Most assume a trade hasn’t happened yet because it would cost Philadelphia far more in dead cap to move him before June 1. Assuming he is traded in a couple of months, it would behoove the Eagles to find his replacement with a top pick in next week’s draft.

Philadelphia makes its pick in Round 1 at 23. That keeps them out of range for the top wide receiver prospects in this year’s class. Or maybe not. According to ESPN NFL expert Matt Miller, Arizona State star Jordyn Tyson has the widest selection ceiling and floor among pass catchers this year.

“He missed 17 of the possible 51 games he could have played in. Tyson’s most recent injury was to the hamstring, which caused him to sit out of three games in 2025,” Miller wrote. “Teams will have varying levels of acceptance with injuries, but Tyson’s range is all over the place because of that — and eight drops in the 2024 season haven’t helped his stock either.

“He could come off the board as early as No. 8 to the Saints or slip to the Jets at No. 33 if those injury concerns prove valid.”

A few weeks ago, Tyson was in the discussion as the best pass catcher in this year’s draft. However, as teams get deeper into their evaluation process, his injuries are turning into a major issue. It does make him risky for the Eagles. But when he is healthy, he is a heck of a talent.

Tyson is a strong route runner, has good size at 6-foot-2 and over 200 pounds, impressive bounce to go up and get passes, and is a great blocker for a receiver. In 2024, he posted 75 catches for 1,101 yards, 10 touchdowns, and a 14.7 yards per catch average.
