Travis Hunter refuted a report claiming he would play cornerback full-time for the Jacksonville Jaguars next season, asserting he will continue his two-way role. He questioned the validity of the report on social media, emphasizing his versatility as a player.
It didn't take long for Travis Hunter to weigh in.
After NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Hunter could be playing cornerback full-time next season for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the former Colorado star quickly pushed back on social media, casting doubt on the idea that his two-way role is going anywhere.
Hunter responded to Rapoport's report on X, asking, "Now who told you this?" Suggesting the report is false, and the former No. 2 overall pick will still be seeing a healthy dose at both cornerback and wide receiver.
Hunter has built his identity as one of college football's most dynamic players, and while that production quieted down during his rookie season, his last game before a season-ending injury featured eight receptions for 101 yards and a pass deflection. It was the epitome of what Hunter can bring to the Jaguars, playing both sides of the ball.
It seems unlikely that the Jaguars would leave that type of potential on the sidelines, and if Hunter has anything to say on the topic, he is not ready to give up being a full-time two-way player.
Jaguars' training camp and OTAs will be fascinating to watch to see how the team deploys Hunter, whether Rapoport's reports are true, and whether Hunter's two-way role decreases.
