Trevor Lawrence reveals he didn't actually cut his hair for Jaguars viral schedule release video

NFL schedule release night has become a huge event for social media teams around the league. While the actual schedule release is overblown and stretched out far too long, fans look forward to the moment when teams can drop their creative schedule release videos.

The Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t go with much pop and circumstance and had a pretty straightforward video release.

They enlisted the help of starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence. He is easily recognizable because he has long brown hair, unlike his fellow quarterbacks, who have become known for cutting their hair short.

The video went viral on social media because it appeared that Lawrence had finally caved and gotten his haircut.

The premise was simple. Lawrence dapped up his barber and sat down in the chair. Classical music played while the quarterback just got his haircut, and the matchups were revealed in text at the bottom of the screen.

It was a very simplistic video, but it was all a ruse.

After the video had been circulating on the internet for about 20 hours, Jacksonville released a behind-the-scenes clip that showed Lawrence getting ready for the video, including getting a protective cap put on his hair and being fitted with a few lifelike wigs.

While it may be a bummer for fans to learn that Lawrence didn’t actually get his iconic hair cut for the video, it also featured the quarterback talking about his hair and the schedule.

He was asked if he had considered cutting his hair short, and he said, “Not really. It’s just easier to keep the same thing you’ve always had, you know?”

Lawrence also talked about what he liked about the team’s schedule, including that the Jaguars will be on the road facing the Baltimore Ravens and the Chicago Bears, two stadiums the quarterback has yet to play in.

When Lawrence got fitted with his second short-hair wig, teammates loved it. In the video, one teammate says, “You look like a Gryffindor,” while another says, “You look like a Disney character.”

Lawrence even surprised another teammate in the locker room with his short hair, and he responded, “That’s gotta be a wig.” When the QB revealed it was a wig, his teammate responded, “I already know you wasn’t finna allow that.”
