Boston is off to a 7-11 start as the Red Sox entered the year with expectations of competing for the AL East title. Although Boston has started slowly, Story has full confidence that the team is close to turning it around, and doesnât believe they should be written off so early into the season.
âWeâre (three) weeks into the season, and we feel like we havenât played anywhere close to our best baseball,â Story said, via The Boston Globe. âAnd it could be way worse. Once we get rolling and once we get to doing the things that we know we can do on a consistent basis, weâre excited about that.â
Story is right, as the Red Sox should be playing better than they are. The team was also without star hitter Willson Contreras, whoâs dealing with a lower back injury, and is still without the likes of Triston Casas, Patrick Sandoval, and Romy Gonzalez, among others.
So, if Boston can get healthy, that should help the Red Sox take the next step as Story expects them to.
