Among all of the injuries that the Toronto Blue Jays have dealt with, perhaps the biggest one is Trey Yesavage.
Yesavage proved during the 2025-26 season that not only can he get outs at a high level, but that he can be one of the best starters in Major League Baseball. It's tough to put that type of pressure on a 22-year-old, but the Pennsylvania native has shown early in his career that his stuff is just as good as anybody in Major League Baseball.
Yesavage is currently dealing with an injury, though, so there will be some questions about how he looks when he returns.
Regardless, it sounds like there seems to be some good news brewing in Toronto for the right-hander's availability.
“Yesavage will make at least one more minor-league rehab start this week before returning to the majors. If all goes well in his upcoming outing, he could theoretically rejoin the Blue Jays as soon as next week,” Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet wrote of Yesavage’s right shoulder injury.
All we can hope for is that his minor league rehab start goes as planned. All indications at this point have suggested that Yesavage is relatively healthy and seems to be in a good spot. That doesn't mean the Blue Jays will push him here, but they could use him sooner rather than later.
