Dave Allen has another chance at a big fight on Saturday, as heâll face Filip Hrgovic in a main event from Doncasterâs Eco-Power Stadium, live on DAZN.
The 34-year-old Allen (25-8-2, 20 KO) is coming off of a clear loss to Arslanbek Makhmudov last October, though he has taken a tune-up fight since then, a February bout that lasted all of 57 seconds against an overmatched Karim Berredjem in Nottingham.
The likable and popular âWhite Rhinoâ will be a huge underdog against Croatiaâs Hrgovic (19-1, 14 KO), and he told the DAZN crew after todayâs press conference that he doesnât think anyone expects him to win on Saturday, but he also feels no pressure because of that.
âNo one thinks Iâm gonna beat him, and I know that,â Allen said. âAll these people here, all my mates and that, I know they want me to win, but they donât think Iâm going to win.
âThis is a shot for nothing. Theyâre paying me a fortune to sell the tickets. Iâve done me job. Iâll turn up now, try me best â I donât feel any pressure.
âIâm that kind of guy, Iâm one of lifeâs losers that ends up winning. So what have I got to lose? I ainât got nothing to lose. Iâm gonna try and punch his fâing head in, and thatâs a fact. So thatâs the thing, yeah? It is what it is, isnât it?
Hrgovic, 33, is coming off of wins over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye in 2025, and will look to make it three straight wins over British heavyweights after being stopped by Daniel Dubois in 2024.
Dave Allen has a boxing record of 25 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws, with 20 of those wins coming by knockout.
The fight between Dave Allen and Filip Hrgovic is scheduled for Saturday at the Eco-Power Stadium in Doncaster.
Dave Allen feels no pressure as the underdog and believes that no one expects him to win the fight.
