The Minnesota Twins have promoted their top pitching prospect from Triple-A St. Paul for Wednesday's matchup against the New York Mets.
The AL Central club promoted left-hander Connor Prielipp, their No. 5-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline. He will make his Major League debut with Wednesday's start.
Minnesota optioned utility man Ryan Kreidler in a corresponding move.
"Prielipp was a second-round pick in 2022 who has a checkered health history but dynamite stuff when he’s available," MLB.com's Matthew Leach wrote this afternoon. "He’s coming off an outstanding start, having struck out eight over five innings for St. Paul on April 16."
The 25-year-old has some serious velocity despite undergoing Tommy John Surgery during his college days.

"The Twins are cautiously optimistic that the real, healthy Prielipp is now ready to show up, now more confident in his own ability to stay on the mound," Prielipp's MLB Pipeline bio reads. "The stuff is real, and it bounced back, starting with a fastball that averaged 95 mph and touched 99, getting more swing-and-miss and chase with the pitch once he got to Triple-A."
Connor Prielipp is the Minnesota Twins' top pitching prospect, promoted to make his MLB debut due to his impressive performance in Triple-A and the team's need for a starting pitcher.
Before his debut, Connor Prielipp had an outstanding start in Triple-A, striking out eight batters over five innings in his last game on April 16.
As a highly regarded prospect with strong pitching skills, Connor Prielipp could significantly bolster the Twins' rotation and contribute to their success in the AL Central.
