In the chaos following Bayern Munichâs winning goal in the 4-3 (6-4 on aggregate) victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League, some ultras jumped into the restricted zone to celebrate, but unknowingly caused an issue by injuring two photographers.
One of the two photographers hurt even lost consciousness per a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
After Bayernâs winning goal, several Bayern Ultras jumped from the SĂŒdkurve into the restricted zone between the stands and the pitch to celebrate with the players. Two photographers were unwittingly caught up in the chaos â one even lost consciousness.
He told @BILD after the game: âAfter the fourth goal, all hell broke loose. I was unconscious and didnât notice anything else. I only came to when it was all over and the pitch was empty. I have bruises and pain. I havenât been able to check my camera equipment for damage yet. My thanks go to the paramedics who provided excellent care. Iâm glad nothing worse happened. Something like this shouldnât happen inside a stadium during a match.â
There has already been an exchange between FC Bayern and the Ultras regarding the incident. The fans expressed their deep regret for the accidental injuries to the photographers and offered their apologies.
It is a shame to see a bystander caught up in this kind of event. Hopefully, the photographers are fully okay and do no have any lingering effects.
