Hunter has played the last two seasons of her career with TCU. This season, she helped lead the Horned Frogs to an Elite Eight appearance against South Carolina.
Hunter averaged 10.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while starting in 38 games for TCU this season. She shot a career-high 45.7 percent from the field and a career-high 33.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Hunter Played in the Pac-12
UCLAâs national championship team represented multiple former Pac-12 teams: UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Utah.
Center Lauren Betts transferred from Stanford, guard Charlisse Leger-Walker came from Washington State, forward Angela DugaliÄ transferred from Oregon and guard Gianna Kneepkens came from Utah. Senior forward Timea Gardiner redshirted this season but previously played for Oregon State before transferring to UCLA last season.
âWe call ourselves the Pac-12 Avengers,â Leger-Walker said after winning the Big Ten Tournament title in March, per the Los Angeles Times.
Now, UCLA is adding another former Pac-12 player to the roster in Hunter. She played her freshman season at Oregon State, alongside Gardiner who was a sophomore at the time.
Hunter started in 34 of 35 games at point guard for Oregon State and was named a Pac-12 All-Freshman team selection and honorable mention Pac-12 All-Defensive team selection. Meanwhile, Gardiner was named the Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year that season.
Hunter and Gardiner helped lead Oregon State to the Elite Eight for the first time since the 2017-18 season. The two veterans will now aim to lead UCLA through a rebuilding phase next season.
