Another round of roster cuts has arrived.
Today (Mon., April 20, 2026), it was revealed that two fighters have been removed from UFC’s active roster, meaning they have been released from their respective contracts and/or the promotion decided not to extend them.
The two fighters who lost their jobs are: 22-fight Octagon veteran Pedro Munhoz and Shem Rock.
Munhoz (20-10) requested his release earlier this month — and got it.
“The Young Punisher” is riding a three-fight losing streak and hasn’t competed since a unanimous decision loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC Edmonton in 2024.
The long-time Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran and former Top 15 Bantamweight contender leaves behind a lengthy and battle-tested run in the 135 lbs division, where he shared the Octagon with a “Who’s Who” of elite competition, including , , , , , and .
Shem Rock was released following an incident where he illegally punched an opponent after his loss at UFC London.

During his UFC tenure, Munhoz earned four “Fight of the Night” bonuses, three “Performance of the Night” bonuses, and compiled 22 appearances inside the Octagon — the second-most in Bantamweight history behind Marlon Vera.
Munoz exits the promotion with a 10-10-2 record.
Rock (12-3-1), meanwhile, never got going.
The outspoken teammate of Paddy Pimblett entered the UFC with buzz following a strong run in OKTAGON, but went 0-2 inside the Octagon. He dropped a decision to Nurullo Aliev in his debut, then suffered another lopsided loss to Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady at UFC London.
It was what happened after that second loss that likely sealed his fate.
Following the fight, Rock threw a punch at Al-Selwady after Al-Selwady refused to shake his hand — a situation that stemmed from earlier bad blood, including a shove at weigh-ins.
Not a good look and now he’s gone.
Rock exits the promotion winless, while Munhoz walks away after a long, respected run.
Two very different departures.
Same result.
