Marco Van Basten insists that foreign owners, including Milanâs, are ânot interestedâ in the history of Serie A clubs and admits he will support not only the Netherlands at the World Cup but also Carlo Ancelottiâs Brazil.
Former Milan striker Van Basten spoke about the state of Italian and Serie A football in an interview with SportMediaset.
âCurrently, there are many foreign owners in Serie A, who have nothing to do with the clubsâ history, nor are they interested in it,â said the Dutch legend.

Van Basten stated that foreign owners, including those of Milan, are 'not interested' in the history of Serie A clubs.
Van Basten will support both the Netherlands and Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil in the World Cup.
He described the current state of Italian and Serie A football as 'shameful' due to the influence of foreign ownership.

âStars are currently missing. Italy have always had a great goalkeeper, a great defender, a great midfielder and a great striker,â he said.
âToday itâs not the same. Itâs hard to see them, and itâs strange. Italian football used to rule the world, but it doesnât anymore. I will support the Netherlands at the World Cup, but I donât expect much. Therefore, Iâll support Ancelottiâs Brazil.â
Ancelotti and Van Basten played together at Milan from 1987 to 1992.
