Things have not gone well for the Los Angeles Angels over the past few years. Mike Trout has failed to stay healthy, and they haven't seen a winning record since the 2015 season.
However, that could be changing with the start the club has had so far. They hold an 11-13 record at this point in the season, but Trout is relishing and the emergence of a new ace has the fans more excited than ever.
Jose Soriano has been one of baseball's best starting pitchers this season. He holds a 5-0 record on five starts this season with an MLB-best 0.28 ERA and 39 strikeouts on 32.2 innings of work.

"A five-homer week from Mike Trout grabbed headlines and rightfully so, but the biggest storyline for the Angels is the emergence of Jose Soriano as a bona fide ace. The 27-year-old is 5-0 with a 0.28 ERA and 0.73 WHIP, allowing just 11 hits in 32.2 innings over his first five starts."
It's been quite some time since the Angels had a pitcher who was leading the league. Dean Chance did it all the way back in 1964, winning the Cy Young award with his 1.65 ERA.
So, if the Angels want to keep this up, Soriano will have to continue to shine, and so will Trout. The three-time AL MVP will also have to find a way to stay on the field, which has been a huge ask over the last five years.
