Vikings filled their biggest need by signing Jauan Jennings

The Vikings came into the offseason with some issues to address, and they went after those despite not having a general manager, at least in title.

The team needed help at cornerback, they signed James Pierre to help Isaiah Rodgers on the outside. They had to figure out the quarterback position, and they brought back Carson Wentz, who was mildly successful in a backup role, as well as signing Kyler Murray on a one-year deal. And last, but not least, they had to find a replacement for Jalen Nailor, who left in free agency.

The WR3 role is one that even ESPN's Aaron Schatz believed was an issue before they eventually signed Jauan Jennings. He wrote, "Justin Jefferson? One of the best. Jordan Addison? The Vikings happily picked up his fifth-year option. But what about a third starting wide receiver? Tai Felton, who had three catches as a rookie in 2025 is the option for now. There's no depth here, either, as the Vikings don't have another wide receiver who was either drafted or has ever caught a regular season pass in the NFL."

By signing Jauan Jennings, the Vikings not only get their WR3 but they also get another reliable blocker on the outside. The run blocking of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison doesn't make the highlights, but on film, they showcase themselves as two of the best at the wide receiver position.
