Welcome to the Herald-Times Athlete of the Week poll for April 27-May 2 presented by IU Health.
Congratulations to last week's winner, Bloomington South track athlete Violet Hall, who received 43.1% of the vote (11,012) to top softball Panther Perry Murphy (30.2%).
Our latest crop of athletes is lined up and readers may vote as much as they like until the poll closes on Thursday, May 7. Here are this week's nominees:

Lucy Adams, Seven Oaks girls track
Junior helped the Firehawks to a third place finish at Clay City's Keith Jones Classic with a PR and school record 14-10¾ in the long jump and a sixth place finish in the 100 with a PR of 14.06. She was also a part of two second-place relays that both broke school records, running a 55.17 in the 4x100 relay and a 4:36.54 in the 4x400.
Ellie Barada, South girls track
Senior had a big day in her final Conference Indiana track meet, taking the 400 title in a school and meet record 54.68, winning the 800 in a meet record 2:10.40 and anchored the 4x400 relay to an easy win in a season best 4:00.14.
Madi Bland, Edgewood softball
Senior helped the Mustangs to a pair of Western Indiana Conference wins, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, three stolen bases, two runs scored and an RBI and turned a double play in an 8-1 win over West Vigo. She was also 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and was HBP in an 8-0 win over South Putnam.
Mak Bollhorst, Seven Oaks boys track
Firehawks won the boys team title at Clay City's Keith Jones Invitational and the junior sprinter was a big reason why. He won the 200 dash with a school record of 23.90 and was second in the 100 in 12.14. He also started the 4x100m relay to a second-place finish and a season best of 47.80 and anchored the 4x400 relay to a win in 3:47.13 with a 55-second split.
Caelan D'Onofrio, North boys track
With several of the Cougars' top performers out, this senior stepped up and helped carry North to a seventh straight Conference Indiana team title. He won the 1,600 in 4:12 , took the 800 in 1:58.56 and anchored the 4x400 relay to a win in 3:23.76.
Grady Bough, Owen Valley baseball
Played a big role in the Patriots' 2-1 WIC win over Cloverdale. Pitching a complete game, striking out the last two batters in the top of the seventh. Then drew a leadoff walk in the bottom half and eventually scored on Jake Heidrick's game-winning hit.
Xavier Hemingway, South baseball
Tossed a two-hit gem in the 2-0 win over rival Bloomington North, striking out 12 and walking just three.
James Johnson, North boys golf
Playing out of the No. 5 spot, scored a career best 80 to help the Cougars win the title at the Bedford North Lawrence Invitational at Otis Park, topping the host Stars on a fifth-score tiebreaker with both teams in at 319 and No. 15 Barr-Reeve (329).
Sarah Kaviani, North girls tennis
Sophomore at No. 2 singles rallied from down 4-1 in the first set to top South's Grave Dykstra, 6-4, 6-2 as part of the Cougars' 4-1 win over the Panthers. Also had the only win (6-1, 6-4) in a 4-1 loss to No. 22 Plainfield.
Delilah Kilbride, North girls track
Won the Cougars' only Conference Indiana title by going a career best 10-0 to win pole vault.
Ella LaRoche, Edgewood girls track
Sophomore keeps elevating her school record in the pole vault, topping out at 11-0 in a meet against Brown County and Indian Creek. Also on the 4x100 relay that won in 51.54.
Elio Miller, North baseball
Had a 4-for-6 day with two RBIs, four runs scored, a double, sacrifice fly and was HBP in a road sweep of Hamilton Southeastern. Also played a key role in a 4-3 win over Northview in a game continued after a rainout, holding the Knights scoreless over the last four innings.
Aminah Saahir, South softball
Junior third baseman had a week, going 7-for-10 with three doubles, a home run and seven RBIs while scoring five runs in games against rival Bloomington North and three of the state's best teams: No. 5 Center Grove, No. 7 Floyd Central and Silver Creek.
Anthony Shields, Edgewood baseball
Held WIC foe West Vigo to just one unearned run over seven innings with two walks and a career best 16 strikeouts as the Mustangs eventually prevailed in 10 innings, 2-1. He also went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a win over South Putnam.
Caden Stewart, Lighthouse Christian boys track
Won the 800 race at Clay City's Keith Jones Invitational in 2:06.60 and took second in the 1,600 in 4:43.05.
Gabe Taylor, South boys track
Senior won three Conference Indiana titles. Flew to a school record in the 100 in back-to-back races with a time of 10.75, took the 200 in 22.05 and started off the 4x100 relay that won in 43.35.
