A significant part of bolstering a mediocre roster is being willing to surrender assets that have been impactful contributors for years.

It’s never easy, but it’s a must if a franchise wants to be a daunting contender during the next NBA season. In the Golden State Warriors’ case, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz is a firm believer that moving on from a 36-year-old four-time NBA champion should be on the table this summer.

“Everyone outside of Stephen Curry should have a price for the Golden State Warriors this offseason,” Swartz wrote Wednesday. “The Warriors clearly don't mind sacrificing future draft capital for the right star, either, as they made an offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo that included four unprotected first-round picks, per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.”

“As weird as it would be to see Green in another uniform, the nine-time All-Defensive team member is 36 and clearly on the downside of his career. His minus-4.3 swing rating this season was the worst since Green's rookie year.”
