Both Paxton Schultz and Andre Granillo pitched two innings each with the latter allowing the game to blow open, giving up four earned runs including a home run along with four hits.
Yet the Nationals dropped the game's first run after Daylen Lile walked then Curtis Mead doubled into left field, letting CJ Abrams drive in one run in on a fielder's choice.
Yet the Twins would take the lead back for good in the top of the second inning after Cavalli hit a Twins batter with two outs, then giving up consecutive hits including an RBI double that put the Twins ahead, 2-1.
Minnesota then piled on in the fourth inning after Cavalli allowed a leadoff hit before walking two straight batters, then giving up a pair of runs on sacrifice hits. A two out double into center field was enough to push the Twins ahead, 6-1, to end Cavalli's night.
