Texas A&M's annual Maroon & White spring game served as the final spring scrimmage for third-year coach Mike Elko, who is fully aware that his talented roster, now featuring 17 transfer additions and 26 signees from the 2026 recruiting class, with 25 of said freshmen taking part in the spring practice schedule.

Several newcomers stood out over the last few weeks, especially freshman wide receiver Aaron Gregory, who has carried himself like a veteran in the locker room, and meshes well with a wide receiver room now featuring Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, and led by star junior Mario Craver.

Still, after losing 20-plus players to the transfer portal and the 2026 NFL Draft, including a nation-high 13 players to the NFL Scouting Combine early last month, Elko and his staff feel they have found replacements for wide receiver KC Concepcion, unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell, and former starting left guard Chase Bisontis.

Among the players who have returned to the roster, sophomore Noah Mikail looks like the next star linebacker after adding size to his frame this offseason, while his instincts as a run defender were on full display during Saturday's scrimmage, paired with his impressive interception in coverage that served as the only touchdown for the White team.
