Watch Fever star Caitlin Clark pick up 1st technical of season, her reaction
LOS ANGELES -- Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who is notorious for her interactions with officials, picked up her first technical of the season on Wednesday night at the end of the first half of the team's 87-78 win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Clark was called for an offensive foul, one that she very much did not agree with, on the Fever's final offensive possession at the end of the first half. She chirped to the refs right after the foul, continued talking to them as she defended the Sparks' final possession, then clapped her hands in a ref's face as she was walking off the floor at halftime
Fever coach Stephanie White wasn't happy with the officiating after center Aliyah Boston fouled out in 22 minutes but Clark had a different reaction to her techinal.
"I deserved my technical," Clark said with a laugh postgame.
Under the WNBA's fine structure in the new collective bargaining agreement, as reported by Front Office Sports, the technical will cost Clark $500, up from $200 last season.
