The New York Mets will have to make do without one of their starting pitchers, at least for the next two weeks or so.
On Tuesday, the NL East club announced that right-hander Kodai Senga was placed on the 15-day injured list due to lumbar spine inflammation.
Righty Christian Scott was promoted to the Majors in a corresponding move.
Obviously, this has to be a frustrating setback for Senga, who was already off to a rough start to the season on the mound. He has not pitched more than 3.1 innings in any of his last three starts and allowed three earned runs in 2.2 innings in his last outing against the Colorado Rockies.

Senga's season ERA has skyrocketed to 9.00.
"After Sunday's game, Senga acknowledged his poor performance but was non-committal when asked if he would accept an assignment to Triple-A Syracuse," Danny Abriano of SNY wrote Tuesday.
Scott made a spot start earlier in the year, but walked five of the ten batters he faced and managed to record just four outs. He's walked just two batters in 13.2 innings (three starts) at Triple-A Syracuse but has been hit hard, allowing eight earned runs on 13 hits.
Kodai Senga is dealing with lumbar spine inflammation.
He is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
Christian Scott was promoted to the Majors in response to Senga's injury.
