‘What he’s doing is incredible’ – Arteta hails Arsenal star’s recent efforts
Mikel Arteta hailed the efforts of Declan Rice as “incredible” ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Fulham on Saturday.
Arsenal have the chance to move six points clear at the top of the Premier League, albeit with Manchester City holding two games in hand, as Mikel Arteta’s side continue their push for a first league title in over 20 years.
Declan Rice has barely put a foot wrong for Arsenal since his £105m move from West Ham, and has been at the heart of much of their success this season.
Many are tipping the English midfielder as one of the favourites for the Premier League Player of the Season award, following a fine campaign.
Arteta was full of praise for Rice and said: “If we want a total team we better have total players to do that, to be so comfortable, to be dominant in any area of the pitch, to dominate every phase of play and Declan certainly is working in that direction.
“What Declan is doing again, it’s incredible. To play the amount of games, minutes, with the quality that he’s shown in every game is something extremely difficult to do. And he’s doing it not only this season but the last few seasons that he’s been with us. And to show that level of consistency is extremely rare because the demands and the standards are very, very high.”

Rice has hardly missed a minute this season, featuring in all but one of Arsenal’s 34 league games so far, while scoring five goals and registering four assists.
Arsenal will need Rice to maintain his fine form as they prepare for their final four league games, including a return to the London Stadium next week to face West Ham, his former club and the side he once captained.
