According to FanSided's Robert Murray, the AL Central club has signed veteran outfielder Randal Grichuk to a Major League deal.
Grichuk, 34, elected free agency a few days ago after the New York Yankeesdesignated him for assignment. The right-handed hitter signed a minor league contract with the Yankees during spring training but did not produce at the plate.
In 16 games (33 plate appearances) with the Yankees, Grichuk hit .194/.212/.323 with no home runs and four doubles. He also struck out 10 times compared to just one walk.
The White Sox will become his eighth team and the sixth in the past three seasons.
It wasn't that long ago that Grichuk was an above-average everyday player. He hit 12 home runs and managed 20 doubles with a 139 OPS+ in 106 games with the in 2024.
