Wisconsin UDFA projected to have starting role with Atlanta Falcons

Former Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Vinny Anthony continues to make noise heading into the 2026 NFL season.

Anthony, 22, recorded 1,000+ receiving yards throughout his three-year career in Madison.

Now, he's on the Atlanta Falcons after being picked up as an undrafted free agent. Ultimately, his UDFA signing has been the most noteworthy as Badgers fans haven't had a ton to monitor as not a single player was drafted.

Falcons Wire's Matt Urben released a new depth chart projection that focuses on Anthony being the team's new starting kick returner.

To see Anthony as the focal point of the article is a great sign, though Urben notes it's still extremely early.

"Third-round pick Zachariah Branch is our projected starting punt returner and UDFA Vinny Anthony II is our projected starting kick return man. Obviously, it's extremely early, but these are battles to watch throughout the team's training camp," he wrote.

For what it's worth, Anthony is also listed as the No. 2 wide receiver 2 on the depth chart behind Jahan Dotson. Other top receivers in the Falcons organization include: Drake London, Zachariah Branch, and tight end Kyle Pitts.
