All eyes in the professional wrestling world will fall on Las Vegas for the second year in a row as WrestleMania 42 is set to take place this weekend at Allegiant Stadium. The two-night card features a bakerâs dozen worth of matches involving 40 superstars (including iShowSpeed) and as many as eight championships could change hands.
Considering the density of the weekendâs action, Uncrowned is here to power-rank every match that will take place at WrestleMania 42, offering some context as to how we got to this point and what level of investment you should give to each one.
Here we go!
13. Logan Paul, Austin Theory and iShowSpeed vs. The Usos and LA Knight
LA Knight vs. iShowSpeed has been the most fun part of the build to this match and Iâm sure there will be plenty of clippable moments for social media here. Itâs a gimmicky match in the best way possible, but itâs hard to justify putting it above any other action on the card.

12. Unsanctioned Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Jacob Fatu
McIntyre and Fatu were in position to be in the main event of WrestleMania not that long ago, so to see them wedged into a singles match like this is a bit underwhelming. That isnât to say this wonât be entertaining, especially considering how violent and talented both men are, but this feels like it would get more time as an extended âSmackDownâ main event than a WrestleMania match.
11. Women's Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way: Irresistible Forces (c) vs. Bella Twins vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

Thereâs a ton of star power here, with every competitor but Lash Legend having held a singles championship in WWE.
Ironically, Legend is the one to watch in this match, as she has shown early and often in her main roster run. This match should be chaotic and each team will get a chance to shine, with the potential to create a WrestleMania moment by having the Bella Twins or Bayley and Lyra Valkyria capture the titles.

10. WWE Women's Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
Cargillâs run atop the âSmackDownâ womenâs division has been largely uneventful, which is disappointing because there are few who have the look or physical abilities that she possesses. This will only be Cargillâs second televised title defense since winning the belt in November, and first on a PLE. Cargill does have a 2-0 streak at WrestleMania and was impressive in last yearâs âShowcase of the Immortals.â
Ripley got here by winning the Elimination Chamber. A year after coming up short against Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair in Uncrownedâs Match of the Year at WrestleMania 41, Ripley gets a chance to walk out of Las Vegas as a champion again.
Expectations here are generally mid-level, but both women have the pedigree to surprise us.
9. Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio
Balor has leveled up in 2026, heading back into the main-event scene and now officially breaking from Mysterio and the Judgment Day faction. On top of that, we know that Balor will be unleashing his âDemonâ persona for the first time in years. It may have been better as a surprise reveal at âMania, but itâs still cool to see and likely means Mysterio will ultimately lose.
8. Women's Intercontinental Championship: AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch
After a 11-year hiatus, Lee finds herself back on the WrestleMania stage, set for her first âMania singles match ever. Lee walks in as Womenâs Intercontinental Champion and is taking on Lynch, who was the catalyst for the first womenâs main event in WrestleMania history. Even though weâve seen these two feud for several months now, the underlying context makes this match significant beyond what happens in the ring.
7. Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Penta (c) vs. JeâVon Evans vs. Rusev vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rey Mysterio
I wonât overcomplicate things here: Special things can happen in Intercontinental Championship ladder matches at WrestleMania, and when you look at the competitors in this one, that legacy very well may continue.

6. United States Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams
Sami Zayn has sneakily put together one of the most impressive WrestleMania runs over the past five years â and he wasnât even on the show last year. He comes in as the United States Champion, which has been one of the bright spots on âSmackDownâ in recent months. The man is perpetually over with WWE fans.
On the other side is Trick Williams, a relatively new arrival on the main roster who is destined for great things. Williams has aura for days and gets his chance to shine on WWEâs biggest stage this weekend.
5. Seth Rollins vs. Gunther
For a match that came together equal parts unexpectedly and late in the WrestleMania cycle, itâs hard to really complain here. Rollins and Gunther are two of the best in the world and should elevate their game at the âShowcase of the Immortals.â
Even though thereâs some loose storyline affiliation between Gunther and Paul Heyman, itâs really not playing a role in boosting or hurting expectations for this match. Sometimes you can just let two guys go at it for 15-20 minutes and itâs enough for the wrestling community. This is one of those times.
Thereâs real potential here for Rollins and Gunther to steal the show on Night 1 â and perhaps a return from Bron Breakker to give us a big surprise as well.

4. Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton
A few weeks ago, this might have been No. 1. Even with âCody Fatigueâ setting in, this was a match that fans have been clamoring for since Rhodes came back to WWE in 2022. The shared history between Rhodes and the insanely popular Orton added an organic, personal touch to the story that elevated it into potentially deserving a Limp Bizkit video package, IYKYK.
Unfortunately, the waters were muddied by the involvement of Pat McAfee. McAfee, who is a good celebrity crossover talent and better commentator, is completely miscast in this feud as Ortonâs heel crony. If there was ever a match that didnât need any extra bells and whistles, it was this one, especially after the bad taste last yearâs Undisputed WWE Championship match left in our mouths.
Will Rhodes and Orton put on a good â maybe even great â match? Of course, theyâre too good not to. Will there be a messy interference and finish? Yes, which hurts perception heading into the show.

3. Women's World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
Morgan, winner of the womenâs Royal Rumble, is about as over as anyone else on this WrestleMania card. This will be Morganâs first true WrestleMania singles match (she wrestled and defeated Natalya at WrestleMania 36 during the COVID pandemic), so itâll be a special moment for the Judgment Day member.
On the other hand, Vaquer has been a rapidly rising star since being called up from NXT last year. Despite being popular, weâre still waiting for a true breakout performance from âLa Primera,â which should come in her first singles match against Morgan and her first WrestleMania appearance.
The lead-in to this match has been extremely physical and Morgan will have the numbers advantage heading into Las Vegas, which could serve as an easy way to protect Vaquer and get the title back on Morgan, should WWE make that choice.
2. Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
This match might not go 10 minutes, but that doesnât matter in the grand scheme of things. The Royal Rumble may lock in two main event spots in January, but the annual 30-man skirmish left fans clamoring for one thing and one thing only â Oba vs. Brock.
The build here has been nearly perfect, with both behemoths just going after one another, leaving a trail of bodies and foreign objects in their wake. Assuming weâre nearing or in the middle of the unofficial Lesnar retirement tour, weâre getting to see him pass the torch of sorts to the next âNext Big Thingâ in Femi, who is on the fast track for stardom in WWE.

1. World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Undeniably the biggest match of the weekend, Punk and Reigns are meeting at very close to â if not at â the peak of their powers. Reigns has been a mainstay in the WrestleMania main-event picture for a decade, and this marks the second consecutive âMania where he isnât walking in with one of WWEâs top titles. Itâs a different appeal, but a major draw nonetheless.
On the other side, you could argue there hasnât been a talent in WWE whoâs had a better run than Punk has for the past 18 months. âThe Voice of the Voicelessâ has been the standard-bearer on âRawâ for the entirety of the Netflix era, and at age 47 seemingly hasnât lost a step either in the ring or on the microphone. A year after getting his first main-event moment, Punk gets to walk into Las Vegas as champion and close out Night 2.
The journey to this point has been a bit uneven, with Reigns winning the Royal Rumble and this match having been set in stone for essentially two months. The early promo work and Punkâs âPipebomb 2.0â on âRawâ last Monday have been the high points, sandwiching some hints at a Bloodline reunion and diminishing returns in face-to-face segments. These two know the position theyâre in and should absolutely deliver on Sunday night.
