The former boyfriend of WWE superstar Stephanie Vaquer is facing more than 50 years in prison after being convicted of domestic violence and attempted femicide in his native Mexico, according to reports.
Rogelio Reyes – himself a wrestler who performs under the name “El Cuatrero” (The Cattle Rustler) – was arrested in Aguascalientes and charged in Mexico City in March 2023 over an incident in which he grabbed Vaquer by the throat and slammed her into a wall.
A picture hanging nearby was said to have been knocked loose during the fray and caused further injury to Vaquer, who then called the police, prompting Reyes to flee while she awaited medical attention.

Photographs of Vaquer, 33, with a bruised neck circulated in the aftermath of the incident.
According to , Reyes, 30, was held at the Reclusorio Oriente prison from 2023 until March 2025 when he won a court injunction securing his release, having previously been denied parole.
Rogelio Reyes is facing charges of domestic violence and attempted femicide, which could result in over 50 years in prison.
During the attack, Rogelio Reyes grabbed Stephanie Vaquer by the throat and slammed her into a wall, causing injuries that led her to call the police.
The incident took place in Aguascalientes, Mexico, where Stephanie Vaquer was attacked by her former boyfriend.

That allowed him to briefly return to the lucha libre (wrestling) ring, albeit only on the independent circuit after larger organizations washed their hands of him, competing as recently as late April.
He was found guilty over the assault on Vaquer Wednesday and will reportedly be sentenced Tuesday.
Attempted femicide is a crime that carries a maximum sentence of 46 years in jail in Mexico while domestic violence is punishable by up to six years behind bars.

Vaquer first met Reyes when she fought as a luchadora in Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, in which she performed between 2019 and 2024.
Having also previously spent time wrestling in Japan, she is now one of the top female stars in the WWE and became the first South American woman to win its championship belt last year.
Reyes is from a family of wrestlers from Jalisco and is the son of “Cien Caras,” the brother of “Sanson” and the cousin of “Forastero,” all well-known competitors.
Reyes and the younger members of his family fought as a trio known as “Nueva Generacion Dinamita” (New Generation Dynamite), a successor outfit to “Los Hermanos Dinamita” (The Dynamite Brothers) formed by his father and uncles.
Together they won both the Mexican National Trios Championship and the Occidente Trios Championship while El Cuatrero has also been crowned CMLL World Middleweight Champion as a solo participant.
