Xander Schauffele is one of the chosen few golfers on the planet who is able to hit any club he chooses.
However, the same obviously cannot be said for the vast majority of amateur golfers out there, especially those who do not hold a low handicap index.
The key for amateur golfers who are looking to improve their games is to make things as simple as they can.
Now Xander Schauffele has provided some priceless advice for those looking to lower their handicaps.
And the two-time major championâs advice centered around amateurs removing one club from their bags, rather than making any technical tweaks.
Some amateurs have a habit of making things unnecessarily difficult for themselves.

After all, there are plenty of golf clubs out there purpose built for making the game as easy as possible.
Schauffele was asked last year which club no amateur golfer should be using.
*â*Oh, a three-iron. It shouldnât be in the bag. A lot of pros donât even use a three-iron.
âYou need speed to get it up in the air, there are hybrids and utility woods and seven-woods out there that are way easier to hit. Three-iron you canât hit out of the rough, seven-wood you can or hybrid you can.â
If you are an amateur golfer of a higher-handicap persuasion, and are still using a 3-iron or a 4-iron, get rid of them instantly.
Get a 7-wood and / or a 9-wood in your bags immediately. If itâs good enough for Tommy Fleetwood, surely itâs good enough for us!
High-lofted fairway woods are designed to launch the ball in the air higher, imparting more spin than a 3 or 4-iron will.
The lower center of gravity inbuilt into the club allows amateurs to lift the ball in the air without striking it perfectly.
Long irons are simply not built to deal with off-center strikes.
A bad strike with a 7 or 9-wood will be just as good as an average strike with a 3-iron if youâre a mid-high handicap golfer.
So letâs all lose the pride. Letâs ditch the long irons and embrace the advice given by Xander Schauffele.
Who knows, our handicaps may well start to tumble instantly.
The article does not specify which club Schauffele warned amateurs about, but he emphasizes the need for simplicity in their equipment choices.
Simplicity is crucial for amateur golfers as it helps them improve their game by reducing complexity and focusing on essential skills.
Xander Schauffele is among the elite golfers who can hit any club effectively, unlike many amateur golfers who struggle with certain clubs.
