Jasson Dominguez left the New York Yankeesâ game against the Texas Rangers on May 7 after suffering a scary injury in the first inning.
Dominguez, playing left field, collided with the wall in pursuit of a fly ball in the bottom of the first inning. He made the catch, but immediately collapsed on the warning track and lay face-down on the dirt while teammates, manager Aaron Boone, and training staff checked him out.
The training staff checked on Dominguez, giving particular attention to his shoulders and neck. The 23-year-old rose to his knees, then his feet, then walked to a medical cart with assistance from a trainer. He ultimately was carted off the field.

Dominguez is slashing .200/.250/.617 since he was promoted from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. This isnât the first injury that has forced him out of a game in the meantime.
On April 29, Dominguez was hit by a pitch near his left elbow â coincidentally, in a game against the Rangers. Dominguez was diagnosed with a contusion and didnât miss much time.
Shortly after his return, Dominguez put together his best game of the season, a 3-for-5, 3-RBI game against the Baltimore Orioles. He hit his first (and still only) home run of the season in the May 3 game.
