The Yankees traded four prospects to acquire Camilo Doval from the Giants before the 2025 trade deadline. Currently, the Giants appear to be benefiting more from the trade as Doval struggles with a 5.24 ERA in New York.

The New York Yankees were active just before the 2025 trade deadline to load up their bullpen, and one of the players they acquired was Camilo Doval from the San Francisco Giants.
They sent four so-so prospects back to the Giants to get the deal done. And right now, it's looking like San Francisco is coming out by far better in the trade.
Doval has a 5.24 ERA in his time with the Yankees. He hasn't been close to the reliever he was with the Giants.
Meanwhile, the catcher Jesus Rodriguez who went to the Giants has recently made his MLB debut, and he has a small sample size .786 OPS.
Parks Harber went to the Giants, too, and he's got an .850 OPS at Double-A.

Camilo Doval has a 5.24 ERA since joining the Yankees, which is significantly lower than his performance with the Giants.
The Giants are seen as winning the trade because the prospects they received are performing well, while Doval is struggling in New York.

The other two going to San Francisco in the Doval deal were pitchers, Trystan Vrieling and Carlos De La Rosa.
Vrieling has a 3.38 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 32 innings at Double-A.
The only guy who has struggled a bit so far this season is De La Rosa, who has pitched just 6.2 innings so far with a 5.40 ERA in the low minors.
The Giants would be happy if just one player they got back in a relief pitcher trade turned out to be a good one.
Right now, it's looking like multiple may work out. That's certainly not an ideal outcome for the Yankees, particularly with Doval struggling.
