NEW YORK - Delayed by rain for nearly three hours, it's just about time for the first pitch of Royals-Yankees on a raw (and now late) Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Ben Rice was elevated to the leadoff spot by Aaron Boone, with the lefty-hitting first baseman "swinging it about as good as anyone in the league,'' said the manager.

Boone also wanted some of his lefty hitters against Royals lefty Cole Ragans, viewed as a neutral starter. So, Ryan McMahon is at third base, batting ninth, and Trent Grisham is in center field, batting fifth.

However, Jazz Chisholm Jr. is not in the lineup (Amed Rosario gets the start at second base on Sunday).

Over his last seven games, Chisholm is 2-for-20 with two singles (one of them a pop fly that fell between two Angels infielders last Wednesday) and nine strikeouts.

Chisholm has drawn five walks in his last four games. But he's also in a 4-for-34 (.118) slide and 6-for-49 (.122), without a home run in his first 73 at-bats.
